State of Alaska Files Motion for Stay of the Order

On Monday, May 8th, the State of Alaska filed a Motion to Stay the Order that shuts down trollers with the Western District Court in Seattle. On Tuesday, May 9th, ATA joined the Motion. Getting a Stay of the Order would enable Trollers to fish Chinook this season.

Filing the Motion to Stay the Order in the Court that ruled on the Order is protocol. Judge Jones has until May 26th to comply. If Judge Jones doesn’t act on the Motion by May 26th then the Motion is filed in the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
